Materials Technology has five universal mechanical testing machines. They are mainly use for measurements of fracture toughness, fatigue strength of components, slow strain rate tests for simulating creep behaviour, and low cycle fatigue.

Available universal mechanical testing machines at Materials Technology:

  • 2 servohydraulic machines for low cycle fatigue (LCF), high cycle fatigue of component (HCF), and tensile testing.
  • 2 electromechanical machines for slow strain rate testing at temperatures up to 1400°C.
  • Component test rig with two 100kN and one 50kN servo hydraulic cyclinders mainly used for fracture mechanics testing
