Nanoindentation: correlation between hardness and crystal misorientation

By mapping crystal misorientation (EBSD technique) and comparing these results with maps of matrices of densely spaced (2.6 um) nanoindents, a correlation could be established between hardness and misorientation. This study was performed on Alloy 690, relevant in the nuclear industry.
