About the Department of Materials Science and Engineering
Welcome to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Our main focus is research on metallic and ceramic materials.
Our activities cover the whole chain Processes – Structures – Properties and include experimental work as well as modeling and characterisation on different length scales.

The department of Materials Science and Engineering consists of four units that work with metallic and ceramic materials from development to production and application. Within the units there are several research areas.

Materials Science provides a Master's programme and and a doctoral program in Engineering Materials Science. There are also freestanding courses for professionals.
