Jesse White
Research Scientist
My primary occupation is Senior Research Engineer at Elkem Technology, but I am also an adjunct Research Scientist at KTH. My present research activities involve the study of the thermodynamics and kinetics of silicon production, the thermophysical properties of slag and metals, and interfacial phenomena in high temperature systems.
Education
Ph.D. 2013, Materials Science, KTH
M.Sc. 1995, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Colorado School of Mines, USA
B.Sc. 1993, Metallurgical Engineering, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, USA
Research\Engineering Interests
Physical chemistry of melts
Transport phenomena and physical modeling
Thermophysical properties of melts
Pyrometallurgical process engineering
Scaleup and pilot testing
Nanoscale beermaking
My favorite metal is molybdenum, and my favorite alloy is 316L. I also am very fond of Swagelok.
