High-entropy alloy

Elastic anisotropy of high entropy alloy.

High-entropy alloys are composed of four or more metallic elements with nearly equimolar composition. In spite of the large number of components, most of the high-entropy alloys have a simple solid-solution phase rather than forming complex intermetallic structures. Using ab initio alloy theory (EMTO-CPA), we investigate the equation of state and the elastic properties of single-phase high-entropy alloys.
